Stoney Middleton

This picturesque village boasts a Roman Bath House (but was it really Roman?), a fish and chip shop and the Moon Inn.

St Martin’s Church is one of only two of the same shape in England – it’s an octagon and was originally built to give thanks for the victory at Agincourt in 1415.

The path out of Stoney Middleton climbs steeply up to Eyam via the ‘boundary stone’ made famous by the Eyam plague of 1665.
