All the walking is easy. There is always a footpath to follow but you will certainly need trainers or lightweight boots, and, in winter or wet weather, full walking boots to keep your socks dry. There are a few short ascents but much of the walking is in river valleys.
You will meet very few roads but there are two fast main roads to cross – the A515 at the Bull O’ th’ Thorns pub and the B6001 between Curbar and Stoney Middleton. Take special care with these as life slowed to walking pace can dull your sense of traffic speed.
